BMW 318 TI 1995 BRAKE SHUDDER WHEN BRAKING & HOW

TO OVERCOME

The bmw 318TI BRAKE SHUDDER is normally caused by the rotors not being even surfaced. The cost to do is approx $30 per each front brake rotor & very easy to take out yourself. A common fault is when you come to a corner or and you want to brake and your brakes shudder to a stop--not smooth. If it skids then I was told the ABS is not working but if no skid your problem is the rotors as confirmed with mine by my Firestione dealership.

Jack your car up and make sure you use stands not just on the jack.

Take the wheel off, take the 2 bolts off top and botton of the brake pad assembly at the back. Now remove the one allen key bolt holding the above rotor and remove. Very simple

Rotors as at December 2012 cost me $30 for each side and easy to fit and replace. Also check alignment, tyre balance and ball joints just in case and if worn pads change those as well.
