The bmw 318TI is the touring compact car thats not going to kill you on the costs for parts etc as parts are cheaper than Japanese cars and the workings less complicated then Jap cars. The front seat belts are easy to take out and replace. Except for the bottom rail nut which is a T50 torx spanner the rest is 16mm on the top band & 8mm for the 2 small holding screws.

How to change & replace your driver or passenger seat belt. Firstly prise the plastic door mold along the base of door run [ main car body] . You can then take the plastic cover away from the door panel to see the tensioner belt. Unbolt the bottom nut using a 16mm socket then take the top shoulder strap holder using again a 16mm socket or ring spanner.

Then you will see the 2 8mm screws holding the strap to the bottom allowing smooth movement up and down. Thats it easy.

Now the hard one is you will need to borrow a T50 torx spanner to undo the rail holding the bottom of the seat belt strap.

You can buy at Supercheap for $25 a set in NZ. Then thats it easy.
