Its no fun trying to buy a packet of fags in NZ on a budget, but like many who can't shake the drug habit, nicotene has taken over many kiwis who are being bitten by a $12 packet of fags 1-2 per day ---- to succumb to an early life & a drug thats even worse than those killed in world wars. The same goes for gambling. They should ban it!!

For the average Kiwi they are hooked on gambling and as it is a good revenue source the NZ Government just encourages it more. We all know friends and relatives who have spent sometimes their life savings and those of others on this disease but the hidden facts are it is a disease that should be stamped out. A total of $849.2 million was spent on the pokies in the year to June 30 2010 in NZ- down 4.5 per cent from $899m in the previous year

Smoking cigarettes is the worst drug worse than marijuana yet the Governments earn more from taxes than many other items. But gambling is so big in NZ that Kiwis can bet on everything from pokies to horses, dogs & sports in the game of chance that they may make a small fortune. Most fail, most say nothing about their losses and most go into a slumber being despondant and think only of what they won then try again. With horses a gambler listens to trials reports from trainers but these same trainers never know what the other person is thinking. Noone knows which horse will really win unless the race is rigged and thats why outsiders (horses with no form) sometimes win the race. It is a game of chance. The sad thing about it is that gamblers live in a fantasy world that becomes an addiction very hard to stop. When pokie machines came to NZ the biggest gamblers were women who spent more on machines than what was being spent on horses!! Marriages broke up, the kids welfare were out in jeapardy & violence in the household increased as the addiction got worse. And it hasn't stopped as now we have internet gambling made even easier and what does the NZ govenment do-- no sensorship just fill the coffers up.

Noble Verses, Allah Almighty considered gambling as the work of Satan--he was right it is. The muslim world have the best formulae yet the west has created a capitalistic front by allowing gambling to extremes on everything creating family hardships we cannot imagine --no gambling.

And like another addiction called obesity they see every fat person as a greedy person who eats far too much and does nothing---am I wrong to say this--but look yourself at all the fat lazy people in NZ. Many people don’t know this but protecting the stomach is one of the things which Islam put high priority towards and there is wisdom behind it. Did you know that eating excessively hardens the heart, it weakens the limbs, this in return has an immediate effect on your laziness in obedience. I myself am not a muslim but these and many oither facts Allah said are actually true. We just disregard them --especially America whom we seem to follow.

Kiwis stop gambling--its a no win situation!!!!!

Internet gambling, whether it be online poker, horse racing, housie, sports, or any number of gambling activities is now available 24/7 from the comfort of ones own home. Most compulsive gamblers go for broke. They have an excitement rush to gamble and feel they can beat the odds but in true fact they are just adding to their fortunes going down to zero. We have all seen how gamblers have lost their homes and property due to the disease. The sad thing about it is that the gambler if he wins feels great but he forgets the time & expense he has put into getting their. This is all forgotten. He/she has won and thats what counts & this is where things get out of hand. If he wins 2 times and loses 5 times then he will say he can beat those odds again--he never will. But then 1/2 an hour later he loses it all again & wonders why but says nothing. He will beats the odds and try again cause he did win yesterday? The problem with horse gamblers is that they become free with their money shouting their mates & telling people how much they made but watch as the truth unfolds and the $$$ start going the other way--- they normally try to double up or do things they would not normally do like EFTPOS-ing more $$$ to feed the game, borrowing or putting downs fronts. Gambling now affects ones business and homelife and its important they get help. The bills become bigger as the money to pay for them goes onto horses or pokies etc so the pot gets smaller and once this sets in then they can resort to all sorts of things.

To recover can be a long slow process but with help they can reestablish themselves as the destruction has happened. Gamblers are normally intelligent people but just gone the wrong way in life. Its a shame but there are REHABILITATION CENTRES THAT CAN HELP YOU kick the habit.
