A MEGA STRUCTURE FOR OVER 85 STAFF???

You would think its a grand Auckland city but in fact its a small town of 33000 folk with this huge Council building with more staff than they need. Yes the Horowhenua District Council has gone one step to make themselves an elite Council with a CEO & enough laws to pass to make it a headache for anyone wanting to get something done. Time for new blood to get on the council???

Levin is not a happening place---just drive thru on a Saturday/Sunday and its dead hole --well nearly as they now have a new Kentucky Fried but no shops are open apart from the inevitable takeaways and food shops, Warehouse etc???

Heres a few good things the Council has done for the ratepayers: SO WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR SAY IN OCTOBER 2010 DON'T VOTE FOR ALL THESE SAME COUNCILLORS WHO SAY NOTHING DO NOTHING APART FROM ATTEND MEETING AND GET THEIR $17000 FEE PER YEAR. GET IRD OF THE MAYOR AND CEO FOR STARTERS AND SOME OF THE OLDER COUNCILLORS

Maybe its time to vote Anne Hunt in as Mayor but then we have seen other Councils with problems of their own and not being able to balance the books. Up to you levin but make things happen. What about a market on a Saturday in the Mall --its dead and no wonder kids break windows in shops and are bored in this town. Apart from the skate rink what is there here??? Council rates in Palmerston North average $1829 per year.

If the Crafer farms all 16 of them are sold to CHINA then this will be the start to the end. Why does our government allow this to happen--make them lease the land and let it stay in Kiwi hands-- try buying this amount of land 5000 hectares in China or Thailand or Asian countries???
